What You Need for a Texas LTC

To apply for a Texas License to Carry, you must:

Be at least 21 years old
Be a legal resident of Texas for 6+ months
Not be prohibited from possessing a firearm
Complete the required LTC-100 course
Pass a criminal background check
Pay the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) fee

We can’t issue your license — only the Texas DPS can.

Please Note: The shooting qualification fee for the License to Carry course is charged separately from the classroom portion.
